The Game Board

Players write their answers on the eXtraDICTION® game board in order to score as many points as possible.

The board layout is a grid of squares, 19 rows by 19 columns.
Each square is given a value of either 1, 2, 3, 5, 10 or 15. The squares are colour-coded to make it easier to identify their respecitve values.

The squares are also grouped into zones (the zones boundaries are shown as bold lines).

Zone 1 is in the centre of the board and contains only one square.
Zone 2 surrounds Zone 1.
Zone 3 surrounds Zone 2.
Zone 4 surrounds Zone 3.
There are also four corner zones.

The square values and the zones are used for calculating the scores.

The Clue Cards

The front of the card has an indexed list of answers which are either words or phrases. There may also be a parallel list of the words in another language.

The back of the card contains the clues to the words or found on the front of the card. The first part of the clue gives the first letter of the word. This is followed by a number within a parenthesis. The number is the number of letters or characters that make up the word. Finally, the definition of the word is given.

If the answer is a phrase, then the clue would consist of the initial letters of the words making up the phrase, followed by the number of letters in each word, and finally followed by the meaning of the phrase.
